Pilot study Ryhov. Summary

A pilot study evaluating the IceBand knee bandage a cooling bandage for postoperative treatment of pain and swelling.

The patients included had all undergone surgical procedures such as arthroscopic treatment of meniscus, cartilage injury or reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee.

Comparative study Total Knee Replacement. Summary

20 patients at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, UK.

IB Medical underwent an audit to identify the effect of simple ice application (the current practice on the ward) vs. IceBand® in patients post Total Knee Replacement (TKR).

To establish if there was a difference in post-operative degree of swelling and range of movement (ROM) in these patients both during their ward stay, and their sub-sequent physiotherapy follow-up period.
